The National University of Córdoba, from its origins, was established as the intellectual epicenter of the continent, being one of the first universities to be founded in America, receiving students from diverse regions, a characteristic that endures to this day. Likewise, with the development of its different historical periods, it was the cradle of transcendental socio-political processes for the configuration of the Argentine university model and the region, since in 1918, it was the scene of the movement called University Reform, where the student body was the protagonist of the conquest of a model of an open, secular, co-governed, autonomous university, with freedom of teaching and in permanent connection with social demands. This phenomenon transcended local and regional borders and allowed the reconfiguration of the university model, whose precepts are sustained in the Argentine university system to this day. Currently, the National University of Córdoba (UNC) has a student population of approximately 178,288 thousand students from different parts of the province, neighboring countries and from different parts of the continent.
